In 1931, Herb bought the Ford dealership in Boone and eventually closed the Ogden store and moved all of the operations to Boone. In 1932, the dealership moved to 525 Story Street in Downtown Boone. In the 1950's, Herb's sons, Stan and Clayton joined the staff. Stan ran the Sales Departments and Clayton ran the Service Department. In 1987, Stan's son Chris joined the staff and now are partners and the current owners and operators of Moffitt's Ford Lincoln Mercury. In December of 2002, Moffitt's Ford Lincoln Mercury relocated to Highway 30 after 70 years in their downtown location. The new 38,000 square foot facility features a spacious showroom, ample parking and vehicle display areas as well as state-of-the-art Service and Auto Body Repair Departments.
